Family Heritage Portraits
Who is a part of your heritage?
During this past year of the pandemic, I have seen families come closer, I have seen families loose loved ones I have seen families grow. We have focused more intently on our loved ones. Realizing time with them & life are very precious to us. Many of my friends on social media have mentioned how much they miss a parent, grandparent who might be living elsewhere and due to some travel or health restrictions are unable to see each other. Some have sadly passed on to the other side of the veil.
A good friend of mine made mention of these feeling on one of hew social media post a few weeks ago. I have had many of these same feelings with my mother, mother-in-law, and other members of my family. As my friend related in her story...she was struck by another person's post that said their goal "was to spend more time with their kids".
This struck a chord with my friend which mad her realize how precious time with her dad was. She commented “I guess you could say I was just going through the motions getting projects done in my house that’s been looking for months, worrying about things, not people. One on one time is so important for any relationship.... parent, child, spouse, friends, and siblings. I am grateful for my relationships I have with them all. I was simply reminded to count my blessings and be more aware of them. Don’t just go through the motions, love very freaking moment, even if it’s spent doing simple everyday things or even taking care of chores around the house."
This is when I realized even more fully that I have the power, ability, and talent to create and art piece that shows the relationships legacies and heritage we all have with our individual families or with a 3rd or 4th generational portrait. Our "Family Heritage Portraits" will focus on the love & joyed shared towards each other. Families will wear solid dark clothes so not to draw attention away from your faces. Your final portrait will be printed in black & white, so when looking at it in your home the warmth of your Families Heritage with shine through.
